From parent roll to finished widths

The right width for the next production step.

Roll slitting divides a wide parent roll into two or more narrower rolls to a customer's specification.

For industrial customers, this is often the step between receiving material from a supplier and feeding it into production. The right width, core, roll build and finished diameter simplify the next process and reduce in-house changeovers.

Rollco Nordic tailors each slitting job to the material and its end use, whether it calls for a few specialist rolls or recurring production volumes.

Specified width

We convert a parent roll to the widths your production actually needs.

Flexible volumes

For small specialist runs as well as larger, recurring production.

Ready for the next process

Finished rolls are prepared to your requirements for core, dimensions and downstream use.

Materials

Roll materials we can process.

We work with several types of roll material. Material properties, thickness, width, roll build and end requirements determine the best production approach.

01 / MATERIAL

Paper

For industrial, graphic and technical applications.

02 / MATERIAL

Plastic film

Flexible films and other polymer-based roll materials.

03 / MATERIAL

PET / polyester film

Technical films where stable roll handling and the right dimensions matter.

04 / MATERIAL

OPP / BOPP

Film products converted to customer-specified widths.

05 / MATERIAL

Specialist materials

Other flexible materials are assessed against the specification and end use.

Unsure whether your material can be slit? Send us the material data or datasheet with your enquiry and we will assess it.

How we work

From specification to finished roll.

01

Requirements

You provide the material, existing roll width, target slit width, core, diameter or length, and volume.

02

Planning

We assess the material, roll format and a suitable production setup.

03

Roll slitting

The parent roll is slit and converted to the agreed specification.

04

Checking & delivery

Finished rolls are checked, packed and prepared for the next step in your production or transport.

Applications

When is roll slitting used?

When a wide parent roll must be divided into several production widths.

When supplied material is wider than the customer's machine can handle.

When the same material is needed in several different widths.

When a production line requires narrower rolls.

When material needs converting before further processing.

When a standard roll size must be tailored to the customer's own process.

Questions & answers

Frequently asked questions about roll slitting

How narrow can Rollco Nordic slit a roll?

We can slit finished rolls from 20 mm wide, depending on the material and the other requirements in the specification.

What is the widest parent roll you can handle?

Our maximum parent roll width is 2,500 mm.

Which core diameters do you work with?

We handle 70, 76 and 152 mm core diameters for both infeed and finished rolls.

Can you slit both paper and plastic film?

Yes. We work with several types of paper, plastic film and other flexible roll materials. We assess each material against its properties and end requirements.

Can you handle smaller volumes?

Yes. Rollco Nordic works with both small specialist runs and larger recurring volumes.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Please send:

  • material type
  • material thickness, if known
  • existing roll width
  • target slit width or widths
  • core diameter
  • desired diameter or roll length
  • number of rolls or total volume
  • delivery location
  • any special requirements

The clearer the specification, the faster we can assess a suitable production setup.

Have a parent roll that needs the right format?

Send us your material data, dimensions and target volume. We will help you assess the best roll slitting setup.
